Over the years we've developed special initiatives that take the learning journey home... and beyond.

Engaged and informed families make great partners in early education. So over the years, we’ve developed (and continue to develop) an interactive curriculum where families stay connected and involved in shaping the children’s days at Kindalin and empowering you to continue the journey at home.
Your child’s learning journey doesn’t stop when they get home after a big day at Kindalin. We know we’re an important but relatively small part of their early learning experience and nothing is more important than family. We seek to support home practices and create a connection for the children between Kindalin and home.
From Coffee Night at the start of the year to the day-to-day updates on the Kindalin App or the regular Expert Speaker events for parents, the Kindalin Post Box every morning (and much, much more), we have a tool box that brings your child’s day to you and enables you to be in their day with us. The annual Kindalin Reading Challenge is a highlight for our older children and their families, while younger children respond to our Room Mascots and Photo Albums to integrate home with Kindalin.
Coffee Night

Coffee Night

To start each year, we host a Coffee Night for parents of each age group. Our most important event of the year is an informal get-together with our parents and Educators to meet each other and discuss your child and the year ahead.

The Kindalin App

The Kindalin App

Install us, and we’ll stay in touch every day. The Kindalin App delivers daily communication, important news, announcements, activity updates, a calendar and photos to your phone.

We upload regular reflections and curriculum plans to keep you informed. Bi-monthly long-form observations written by our Director or Room Coordinators detail the activities and over-arching themes explored in the centre.

While our main priority is to stay engaged in play and learning experiences with your child, we do our best to take great pictures too.

Post Box

Post Box

We work hard to ensure a meaningful connection between the children, their family life, and Kindalin. To enrich this connection, we’ve introduced the Kindalin Post Box. It’s a fantastic and fun way for families to participate in their children’s day, fostering the children’s emerging literacy and communication skills.

Social Media, Email and Newsletters

Social Media, Email and Newsletters

We endeavour to keep you informed via app updates, email and printed newsletters that detail the curriculum, events and staff changes within our centres. Each touchpoint helps to connect our families with their child’s time at Kindalin.

We’re also active on social media. Our Facebook page and Instagram channel are hives of visual activity. We’d love you to join us!

The Kindalin Reading Challenge

The Kindalin Reading Challenge

Guided and shared reading experiences are proven to support the development of early reading skills. The Reading challenge is an integral part of the Kindalin Preschool Program and functions as a critical method of furthering the connection between home and Kindalin. Children in the Wombat group and their families can select books or pick from our author studies and regular. Each month children bring their Reading Log into Kindalin. At the end of the challenge, the children receive a certificate and a book for participating.

Room Mascots

Room Mascots

Room Mascots are a fun way for families to participate in the Kindalin Curriculum. The children take turns bringing the Mascot home for the weekend and family vacations. We enjoy seeing photos of our little friends in new and exciting places. This practice supports the children’s language skills as they describe their adventures.

All About Me / Holiday pages

All About Me / Holiday pages

Every child at Kindalin is invited to submit an ‘All About Me’ page. It’s a small poster featuring every child’s photo and a short description of their favourite things. We use them as a talking point to share and introduce each other to the class. They hang on the room’s walls for all to see and help us get to know one another.

Equally as exciting are the ‘Holiday pages’ where parents are invited to submit a photographic story about their travels on vacation time.

Create your child's Holiday page now.

Photo Albums

Photo Albums

Photo Albums help our youngest children feel connected to their families at Kindalin. The photos help young children share and talk about their families and feel a sense of pride and familiarity.
